A Curl in the Whirled

It’s time for me to come clean: I, Alyson Rose Osterman, am a curlie. There, I’ve said it! While this may not seem like a big deal to most, for me, this is monumental. You see, for the past 13 years, I have lived my life as a straight-walker (a curly-headed, straight-haired wannabe)—ever since that fateful day in sixth grade gym period when the HBIC at my middle school taunted me for my curly locks in front of the whole class…I was mortified.
Why, years later, am I finally ready to embrace the “real me?” The main answer is simple: guilt. Here we are—Launchpad is rarin’ to release it’s big July curl issue to celebrate my coil-headed peers; and here I am, feeling like America’s Biggest Hypocrite. So I’ve decided to do something about it; I’m taking a vow to say hello to the true curlie that lies within me—with a little help from my friends at Paul Mitchell Systems and Coppola Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy.
